Introducing Microsoft Viva - Employee Experience Platform
Today, we are excited to announce a new brand and product suite in the emerging category of employee experience platforms (EXP) – Microsoft Viva.
Microsoft Viva is a digital platform designed for the new world of work. It builds on Microsoft 365 to bring together communications, knowledge, learning, resources, and insights into an integrated employee experience that empowers people and teams to be their best from anywhere. Viva is experienced through Microsoft Teams and other M365 apps that people use every day. With a strong and growing ecosystem of partners and an open and extensible platform, Viva makes it easier to integrate all the systems and tools a company has in one place.
To start, Microsoft Viva will have four modules:
Viva Connections built on SharePoint and Yammer provides a curated and branded gateway to your digital workplace. Leaders can connect with employees via company town halls, and employees can access everything from company news, policies, and benefits to employee resource groups or communities they want to join.
Viva Insights Viva Insights gives individuals, managers, and leaders personalized and privacy-protected insights that help everyone in an organization thrive. It brings new personal wellbeing experiences, insights, and recommended actions from Workplace Analytics and MyAnalytics into the flow of people’s work in Microsoft Teams. For example, Viva Insights helps individual employees stay connected with their colleagues and protect time for regular breaks, focused work, and learning. Viva Insights helps managers and leaders see trends at the team- and organization-level, and provides recommendations to better balance productivity and wellbeing.
Viva Learning is a central hub for learning in Teams, with AI that recommends the right content at the right time, making learning a natural part of the day. It aggregates content from LinkedIn Learning, Microsoft Learn, and other leading content providers, as well as a customer’s own custom content, with easy sharing, assigning, and tracking of course completion. Leading LMS partners (SAP SuccessFactors, Cornerstone OnDemand, and Saba) will also integrate with Viva Learning.
Viva Topics uses AI to automatically organize company-wide content and expertise into relevant categories, putting knowledge to work. Viva Topics automatically surfaces topic cards as people work in apps like Office, SharePoint, and Teams. When employees click on a card, a topic page appears with documents, videos, and related people.
What is currently available?
Viva Topics is available today, February 4, 2021 as an add-on subscription for O365/M365 commercial plans across all channels. Visit aka.ms/VivaTopics to learn more.
Viva Insights is available in public preview, which includes personal insights for the Viva Insights app in Teams for all O365/M365 subscribers on Microsoft Exchange Online. Manager and leader insights are only available in public preview to customers with a Workplace Analytics subscription. Manager insights also now includes a new Power BI dashboard, that shows side-by-side data from Workplace Analytics and LinkedIn’s Glint, which is available in public preview to jointly licensed Glint–Workplace Analytics customers. Viva Connections desktop app in Teams will be available in the year, with the mobile version coming soon after H1 2021.
