Announcing Microsoft Marketplace Transact and Grow Incentive Campaign

Microsoft would like to announce Marketplace incentive campaign that you might benefit from in FY23, the FY23 Marketplace Transact and Grow Incentive Campaign. This is an incentive campaign to reward and motivate publishers (“Participants”) to publish transactable offers on Microsoft commercial marketplace (including Azure Marketplace and AppSource storefronts) and accelerate sales and usage of their transactable offers. The campaign runs from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023 (“Program Term”). Start publishing transactable offers and boosting their sales and usage now to start earning in this incentive campaign.

 

EARNING OPPORTUNITY

In this incentive campaign, Participants can earn up to USD $40,000 for publishing transactable offers on Microsoft commercial Marketplace and unlimited incentives for meeting billed sales and usage milestones. The incentive consists of two tiers:

 

Tier 1: Marketplace Publish incentive

Each participant (determined at the Partner Global Account level) can earn up to USD $40,000 from Tier

 

Lever 1: Publish incentive.

Only public offers that are published as transactable offers for the first time during the Program Term, or public offers published before the Program Term and become transactable during the Program Term are eligible for this Marketplace Publish incentive.

 

  • Option 1 – Azure Marketplace Publish incentive: USD $10,000 is awarded when a public transactable offer is published into Azure Marketplace during the Program Term or when an offer published before the Program Term becomes a public transactable offer during the Program Term. Each participant (determined at the Partner Global ID level) can earn up to a cap of USD $20,000 from Tier 1 Lever 1 Option 1
  • Option 2 – Azure IP Co-sell Publish incentive: USD $20,000 awarded when a public transactable offer is published for the first time with Azure IP co-sell incentive status during the Program Term or when an offer published before the Program Term becomes a public transactable offer with Azure IP co-sell incentive status during the Program Term.

 

Lever 2: High quality publish incentive for Teams apps

USD $10,000 is awarded when a Teams app becomes transactable by being published in the Teams Store and linked to a transactable offer on Microsoft AppSource for the first time, where the Teams app meets the following high-quality criteria.

-           Azure Active Directory single sign-on (AAD SSO) enabled

-           Leverage two collaborative features of Teams to earn the incentive. The eligible Teams collaborative features include tabs for chat/channel, personal tabs, bot using adaptive cards, messaging extension using adaptive cards, and meeting extension.

Each participant (determined at the Partner Global ID level) can earn up to a cap of USD $20,000 from Tier 1 Lever 2.

Existing Teams apps published to the Team Store prior to the Program Term that (1) have not been yet linked to a transactable offer in Microsoft AppSource by the campaign start date, or (2) have not meet the high-quality criteria by the campaign start date can earn Tier 1 Lever 2 incentive if they are linked to a transactable offer in Microsoft AppSource during the Program Term and meet the high-quality criteria for the first time during the Program Term. 

 

An eligible marketplace offer can earn on both lever 1 and lever 2 of the Marketplace Publish incentive.

 

Tier 2: Grow incentive:

 

Lever 3: Billed Sales incentive:

USD $10,000 is awarded when a transactable offer achieves a cumulative billed sales total of USD $25,000 during the Program Term on Microsoft Azure Marketplace and Microsoft AppSource. The cumulative billed sales total for an offer will be calculated as a sum of the billed sales amount for a public offer and all associated private offers. Only offers with cumulative billed sales total of less than USD $25,000 during the period 1 July 2021 – 30 June 2022 are eligible for this incentive.

 

Lever 4: Usage incentive (Teams apps only)

USD $10,000 is awarded when, within the Program Term, a Teams app reaches 5000 in monthly active user count for the first time in 12 months or for the first time since its publication, whichever timeframe is shorter. All Teams apps published to Teams store are eligible for this usage incentive, regardless of transactability status and publication date.

 

An eligible marketplace offer can earn on both Grow incentive lever 3 and Grow incentive lever 4. Offers published before the campaign period are also eligible for this Growth incentive. There is no limit on how many offers partners can earn incentive on.

 

INVITATION COMMUNICATION

Partners who have at least one offer that is live and in good standing on the Microsoft commercial marketplace will be invited to the incentive campaign. Campaign invitation will be sent to a Partner Location ID under the Partner Global ID associated to the partner’s marketplace publisher account. Eligible partners will see the following communication:

  • The campaign Terms and Conditions document sent via email to the partner’s Partner Center Incentive Admin or Global Admin contact
  • An invitation to enroll in “Campaigns Program” in Partner Center at a Partner Location ID under the Partner Global ID associated to the partner’s marketplace publisher account. Partner’s Partner Center Incentive Admin or Global Admin will receive the invitation via email. The invitation is also visible on the Partner Center Incentives Overview page.

 

Please note that if you do not yet have an offer listed on the Microsoft commercial marketplace as of this moment, you can still earn an incentive for listing your first transactable offer. The invitation communications will be sent to you after your first marketplace offer is published.

 

CAMPAIGN INVITATION TIMELINE

Partners who are currently Microsoft commercial marketplace publishers with at least one offer that is live and in good standing on the Microsoft commercial marketplace by 1 October 2022 should expect to see the invitation communications in October 2022.

 

Partners who publish offers on the Microsoft commercial marketplace for the first time after 1 October 2022 should expect to see the invitation communications in the first month of the fiscal quarter following the publishing quarter.

 

PAYMENT

In this incentive campaign, partners will be paid quarterly within 60 days from the end of the earning quarter if Campaigns Program enrollment has been completed in Partner Center.

 

NEXT STEP AND RESOURCES

 

  • If you have not done so already, publish your first offer on Microsoft commercial marketplace to receive the invitation communications.

 

  • Once you receive the campaign invitation communication, enroll in Campaigns Program in Partner Center

In order to receive any incentive earnings from this campaign, your organization will need to be enrolled in Campaigns Incentive Program in Partner Center at the invited Partner Location ID under the Partner Global ID associated to your Publisher account and have complete bank and tax information associated with the Campaigns enrollment. The Partner Center enrollment deadline for the campaign is 31 July 2023. The earlier you complete enrollment, the earlier you can receive your incentive earnings. If you have already enrolled in Campaigns Program for the same Location MPN ID in any other Microsoft incentive campaign, you will not need to enroll again.
