Removing devices from Intune
Hi all,
I have a case that will probably become more common in the future. Let me explain the issue first.
So for a School we have been able to arrange some refurbished DELL laptops for 300 students that need to learn from home, due to Covid19. What not has been checked unfortunately is that these machines are still in the previous owners Intune. So we are not able to add these machines to Intune through Autopilot.
The problem is that we have not been able to find the previous owner of these devices to ask directly to remove them. We have also asked DELL to check. But they have only established these machines have been sold in the UK, but no info to whom.....
So my question is, does anyone know how we are able to solve this? Is there another way? Any idea is welcome. As I predict this will not be the last time we run into this.

Delete devices from the Intune portal
Sign in to the Microsoft Endpoint Manager admin center.
Choose Devices > All devices > choose the devices you want to delete > Delete.
