AMA Recap: Join us to #BuildFor2030 - learn how to participate
Thank you for everyone who joined the call, the recording is available on-demand so you can learn how to participate in building toward a more inclusive economy. Some highlights from the call are included below along with links to the recording and other resources.
Q: What is the #BuildFor2030 campaign and what type of solutions are featured?
A: The #BuildFor2030 campaign highlights partner solutions and services that are listed on Microsoft AppSource or Azure Marketplace that support the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.
To start, you can review the UN Sustainable Development Goals. In this nomination form you can describe the impact of the solution, how it connects to different SDGs (you can check more than one) and touch on what inspired you to build for impact.
Q: What is the participation criteria and how can I nominate my solution to be featured?
A: To be nominated for a feature in this campaign, you need to be a Microsoft partner with a valid MPN ID, you need to have a solution or service built on Microsoft technology, and your impact-focused solution must be published on Microsoft AppSource or Azure Marketplace.
In 2021, we will have five milestones aligned to the following themes:
- Gender equality
- Climate and sustainability
- Digital inclusion and accessibility
- Enabling the nonprofit sector
- Empowering communities
You can submit an existing solution or service published on Microsoft AppSource or Azure Marketplace that supports the UN SDGs and submit through our nomination form to participate.
Q: What will be expected of me if we are featured?
A: First off, celebrate your participation in the campaign! Afterwards, prepare to amplify your participation through readying the customizable assets provided in the promo kit. After launch, share your participation in the campaign with customers through social and email. After the campaign has ended, share your feedback and results with Microsoft through our brief survey.
Q: I'm ready to publish my impact-focused solution to the Marketplace. Where do I start?
You can publish your impact-focused solution in Marketplace via the Commercial marketplace tab in Partner Center. First, review the quick start Publisher guide to determine your publishing options and prepare required information. Digitally-engaged partners can also request 1:1 engagement with a Cloud Enablement Desk specialist and under desired CED service select: Publishing a solution to commercial marketplace. Finally, you can also hire external help by working with a consultant. Be sure to factor in a 4-6 week lead time for the publishing process to ensure you have sufficient time for reviews and to develop a strong listing highlighting your impact-focus.
Q: I want to build for impact but I don’t know where to get started.
A: Don’t have an impact-focused solution yet? We recommend looking at Solution Workspace as a resource to start building for impact. In Solution Workspace, you can explore resources for incorporating inclusive design and accessibility while building your solution. Additionally, be inspired by other partners and consider how you might build for impact by looking at solutions and services we have featured in previous #BuildFor2030 milestones.
Q: Are there deadlines for nominations?
A: We are now accepting nominations for 2021 features. Nominations are accepted on a rolling basis and we will review them a few times a year. We are reviewing nominations with the upcoming deadlines* for each theme:
