FY22 Incentive program overviews available on MPN website

Hi,

 

Question regarding the FY22 Modern Commerce Incentives (Azure) & the second lever available to Azure Expert MSP/Adv. specialisation partners.

 

The initial overview deck released stated Partners who were Azure Expert MSP AND who had Azure specialisations.

But the incentives guide says it is partners who were Azure Expert MSP OR who had Azure specialisations

 

Can I confirm which is correct?

As you correctly point out, partners can earn through the MCI incentive program through 2 levers under the Enterprise and self-service purchasing motions:

Lever 1: Partners with Gold Cloud Platform competency

Lever 2: Partners with Azure Expert MSP or Azure advanced specialization.

 

If partners have both Gold Cloud Platform competency and also Azure Expert MSP or Azure Advanced specialization, they can earn from both levers and combine the incentives. The max cap is then also combined up to $100k maximum earning opportunity per Engagement Term, per partner, per subscription.

 

Hopefully this is clearer now.

Has the Dynamics Customer Add incentive been cancelled in OSA Sell?

Hi Marcel,

 

Yes, after September 30th 2021 there will be no Customer add accelerator under OSA program.

So Microsoft shifts its focus away from adding new customers in EA to adding new customers in CSP? In CSP, the customer add still exists...

 

Doing EA deals becomes very unattractive because of this move by Microsoft. This kills a big part of our business/income in the partner program.

From my perspective, EA was always unattractive to work with. The problem will still remain because MS will ongoing sell EA to Enterprise customers. We try to sell CSP to all customers doesn't matter if they are SMC or enterprise.

Customers will generally purchase solutions through one of three motions: Breadth, Enterprise, and Self-Service. Partners have an earning opportunity through value-added services and solutions across all purchasing motions:
  • Partners Build Intent with prospective customers to explore the impact of Microsoft-based solutions
  • Partners assist with Transacting customer purchasing and facilitating the licensing opportunities
  • Partners drive consumption of solutions and encourage customer growth
We have aligned our incentives and investments to match this wider purchasing motion evolution. We are focused on providing simple programs that clearly outline partner earning opportunity and align to our partner ecosystem strategy and committed to disclosing upcoming program changes with as much advance notice as possible, to allow ample time for partner business planning.
