I wondered whether there is an external site/process whereby a potential customer can verify our organisation as a Microsoft partner and what competencies we hold. I'm thinking something like the ISO / Cyber Essentials verification sites but for MS partners - is there such a thing? If not, should there be?
I have been attempting to renew my MAPS for some time with no avail. Over the years, I have been contracting to a medium sized corporation whereby I developed solutions for their subsidiaries around the world. It was convenient at the time to become a Microsoft Partner in order to get access to the necessary benefits for this purpose. Now I find myself in a situation where I am not in any solid contractual position and thereby not with my own website or a registered business for that matter. On the top of that I am retired but would still like to continue researching developmental interests just to keep the grey matters active.
In this position, I don't fit Microsoft's regulations in order to continue my MAPS subscription.
I guess I'll have to change my approach and get Linux on my dev boxes if I'm not going to accept defeat.
Since MPN is targeted for organization, there are indeed no options to register as Partner (company) without having any registered company. There still might be individual developer programs available outside of MAPS, like M365 Developer Program, free Visual Studio Code IDE or Visual Studio Monthly subscriptions - also guidance & content for developing Azure solution also with Open Source tools, if this is your preferred platform. What is you area of interest for developing solutions in?
The Microsoft solution provider search page (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/solution-providers/home or https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/solution-providers/search etc) shows all partners that have created a marketing profile and includes all competencies.
Once you have the search results up, you can use the 'partner' filter to show partner with specific competencies or advanced specialisations.
Hi Andra, the solution provider search page is not only for Volume Licensing partners and distributor but for all MS Partners and if you search with the location, the size and the product you will see all available partners and you will also see which competencies they have.
Hi @WorTony ,
Not sure there is a directory for this purpose, other members of the community could probably advise.
Here are some useful resources though:
Advanced Specialization Partners : https://www.microsoft.com/azure/partners/advspec?filters=windows-server-and-sql-server-migration-to-azure

I'm not sure that it fully answers my question entirely but thanks for taking the time to reply. I've checked with MS Partner Support and they confirm there is no such service. Seems odd that there's no such service but if w don't have it we don't have it.
