Heads-up: Dynamics Business Central in the Swiss DC

Heads-up: Dynamics Business Central will launch in the Swiss Datacentre much sooner than anticipated. Engineering teams saw a short-notice window of opportunity: the launch is planned for next week.

In contrast to M365, Azure, Power Platform or other Dynamics applications, existing Swiss clients running the Swiss Business Central version will automatically be moved to Swiss DCs without any opt-in or opt-out, see below.

The below announcement was shared on the "Dynamics 365 Business Central Development External Network" including partners:

Announcing: Go Local Switzerland | Business Central in local Azure region

Relevant to customers and partners in Switzerland

With the Business Central online service, we strive to provide the best experience and performance for our customers. Therefore, we’re planning to move the environments running on the Swiss version of Business Central to the local Azure region. See details below.

Relevant to Switzerland:

Currently, all Dynamics 365 Business Central environments running on the Swiss version of the Business Central online service are deployed to the West Europe Azure region.

With 2021 release wave 1 minor update 18.3, all newly created Business Central online environments that run on the Swiss version will be created in the Switzerland North Azure region by default. We expect the minor update 18.3 to release on July 2 or early week of July 5.

We will also start moving existing customer environments running on the Swiss version of the Business Central online service from West Europe Azure region to Switzerland North Azure region. Existing customers will be informed week of July 5 via the message center in their tenant Admin Center.

Thanks Mark - it's a team effort as usual. And not only within Msft: your shout-out and many other partner requests were the decisive factor to get the Biz Case together and accelerating the local deployment. We definitely listen and very much take your feedback and inputs to heart for the benefit of you and in particular our end clients. Hopp Schwiiz 😉
