Skype for Business Online Plan 1 Standalone End of Life

Effective August 1, 2018, Skype for Business Online Plan 1 standalone (previously Lync Online Plan 1) will no longer be available for purchase for new or existing customers. Skype for Business Online Plan 1 features are now included in all Office 365 suite offerings, including F1. Existing customers with active Skype for Business Online Plan 1 subscriptions will be able to continue using the service throughout the duration of their subscription term, however these customers will be unable to purchase additional licenses or renew their subscriptions after August 1st. Customers will have the ability to transition users to Office 365 services upon the completion of their subscription term to maintain the same functionality. Skype for Business Online Plan 1 will move to Lead Status for a limited time (August 2021) to aid EA/EAS customers through this transition.

Can you confirm this section is correct?

‘however these customers will be unable to purchase additional licenses’

Usually on EOL users can make changes to their subscriptions up until renewal.

Hi Daniel,

Yes this is correct; they can continue to use SfB but will be unable to add any further licenses to it.
