Move to Partner Centre + MSDN subscriptions

We are in the process of migrating our Microsoft partnership to Partner Centre. An important part of our business utilises Partner MSDN subscriptions. Are there any recommendations as to how to mininimise disruption to MSDN licenses during this migration ?

There should not be any disruption. However in the new world MSDN subs cannot be assigned to a Microsoft Account. You have to assign to an AAD account that is in your AAD attached to your partner account. This does not include guest accounts.

You need a plan to transition due to the fact that once you transition to an AAD account, if you have users assigned to Azure DevOps with the MSA then you will have to add the AAD user to ensure the correct MSDN priviledges are assigned.

When we migrated last year, all our subscriptions just expired. I think thats now fixed, but beware if you migrate and that happens, you need to go into the partner centre and reassign a subscription.

How did you enable this migration. It isn't an option that I've seen anywhere?

The option to migrate from the Partner Membership Center ("PMC") to Partner Center  will be offered when logging in to the PMC, it should now be displayed to all Partners (may depend on your role in PMC though). When the renewal is due you need to migrate, since competency renewals can no longer be done in the PMC.
