"Auto complete" list in Outlook

Hi,

A customer of ours have moved from an Exchange solution to O365.

They have asked me if it is possible to move the "auto complete" list in Outlook over to their new platform.

So is this possible?

Thanks!

Yes, easy to transfer those autocomplete entries (they're called "nicknames").

Under C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\RoamCache in the old computer (or old profile) will be a file called Stream_Autocomplete_LONG NUMBER HERE.dat and that has the nicknames.

BEFORE YOU GO ANY FURTHER: MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF THAT NICKNAMES FILE AS IT CAN GET OVERWRITTEN IN THIS PROCESS.

In the new Outlook profile, send a few emails by manually typing the recipient into the "To:" field. That will create a new "Stream_Autocomplete_NNNNNNNNNN" file. That number is linked to the profile.

Delete the newly created Stream_Autocomplete nickname file and then rename the old nickname file to what the new one was called.

It sometimes takes me a few tries; no idea why, but that's why it's so important to back up the original nicknames file.
