Permanently deleting attachments from Azure DevOps product backlog items???

When you delete an attachment associated with a product backlog item, it is not permanently deleted as you can still access it by clicking the audit log entry where the deleted file is shown with strike-through font.  Is it possible to permanently delete attachments from PBIs?

One possibility is cloning the PBI that has had the attachment deleted, as the audit trail does not seem to be carried over in the cloned version of PBI. But as there are many PBIs to be tidied up, I am looking for a more direct method. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
