CSP question

Hi,

We are Microsoft Datacenter  silver Partner.

In our partner deshboard we see CSP, is this means we are also CSP? We would like to setup a new enviorment for one of our customers in Azure. can we do this on their behalf?

Thanks

Yes, by enrolling as Indirect CSP as described here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/partner-center/enrolling-in-the-csp-program

This can be done using the Partner Center account you already have, or you create a new AzureAD tenant and then during enrollment you link it to the MPN ID you already have.

In Partner Center settings, you then should also have a "Reseller Profile" where your CSP status is confirmed.

Since most likely you are an Indirect CSP (if you would be Direct, you would know because you have to fulfill more requirements), you need to create new customers via the CSP provider portal, not in Partner Center, see also: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/partner-center/indirect-reseller-tasks-in-partner-center

I have seen that "CSP" appears in partner Center also when an attempt of enrolling as CSP was started, but never completed. See here for how the enrollment can be started: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/partner-center/enrolling-in-the-csp-program

Hi Jan,

Thanks for your reply,

How can I findout  if we are an indirect CSP? As I meantioned we are silver datacenter partner.

Is there a requirments to become an indirect CSP? and once we are indirect CSP can we on behalf of our customers buy cloud services?

Thanks

Microsoft

As mentioned, in POartner Center (Partner Prfile/Reseller Profile) you see the status and it will also displayed wether you are Direct or Indirect.

There is no requirement to become Indirect CSP, you don't need to be a CSP, you can just be a Partner.

But if you want to sell cloud services to your customers, I would recommend to become a CSP Partner, and starting with the Indirect CSP option is the right choice. The requirements to get the Indirect status are documented under the links I posted already - basically it is just to have MPN ID (Which you already have), do the enrollment and then choose an CSP indirect provider you are working with (which will care about the provisioning/ordering portals and handle the billling).

Hi Jan,

Thanks for your reply,

I did check the Partner enter, Partner Prfile and dont see any Reseller Profile.

If I understood you correctly, we must first become a indirect Reseller and after that we can buy a Tananet in Cloud in behalf of our custmers,  and we do this with the help of other indirect Reseller, is this correct?

Thanks
