Inspire feedback re: Surface?
Surface partners,
Did you attend Inspire this year? If so, we appreciate your ongoing commitment to Surface!
We would welcome any feedback you have about the Surface presence (e.g. pre-day, awards, evening event, side meetings, corenotes suite, sessions, expo, etc) at this year's event.
- What went well?
- What didn't?
- What should we do differently next year?

Hi Greg...yes I spent 2 days online from here in Italy, following the events at digital "Inspire"... as regards to my commitment to Surface...I am still managing to use the Surface that I bought from Microsoft 8 years ago...before I left London (Uk) to the South of Italy ( much better weather !!)... the battery still charges ok...and my ongoing commitment is cleaning the felt keyboard and making sure the harddrive is not cluttered up... great machine... but it is sort of redundant now as it will not support Edge and I refuse to try and install chrome... it may become a collectors item in the future !!
Ok...the Surface presence at Inspire that impressed me, was learning how many devices were shipped to Australia, I think... and of course, due to Covid, the desperate need for devices to run Teams... to distribute to "Front Line Workers"... Microsoft managed to get their suppliers to continue providing devices etc... I had not considered all this in light of Covid... great for sales, but well done to Microsoft...
There are VOIP devices already available for Teams... but I believe I took note from Inspire that Microsoft are due to release a mobile phone for Teams... will this be under the Surface umbrella... I think the cost is planned to be 200 dollars... which will be very attractive, perhaps you can help me become a first customer - similar to my original purchase of a Surface... perhaps I can trade it in !! Ciao for now - Riccardo

Hi,
Postives: Customer who bought an Service Device are not trying to return Device
Negative: It's hard to get customer to buy a asset. The price is high, and the arguments are hard

Thanks. Your sales feedback is valuable, and I'll pass it along.
Any feedback specifically related to Inspire, and how we can make that event more valuable for Surface partners?

Greg...it may be that Inspire/Surface could have detailed more in depth, the future Network for selling/distributing Surface products... obviously Microsoft sell online and it was a sort of turning point for Microsoft to develop and sell devices 8 years ago... so if we are to persuade people to consider spending 200 dollars/pounds/Euros !! - rather than on Android devices - the Surface Phone ?... needs to be on the shelves in the 5 shops here in a small town called Alberobello... perhaps Microsoft are not interested in this Market share... and distributing the devices is complicated... but it could be an opportunity for partners like myself to get involved in... food for thought ... Ciao for now - Riccardo
