move a tenant from CSP to EA, is it possible?

A customer with some Exchange online subscription through CSP wants to move his entire tenant to his current EA, He wants to change subscriptions from Exchange Online to O365 Plan E1 and wants to keep/hold the same tenant name iand domain, in the EA, is it possible?

Some people in Microsoft told him this is possible and must be no charge becuase it envolves some click to do, but nobody in this Sudsidiary knows or shares the process... just told us "unsubscribe the exchange users, subscribe the new ones and you are done!" or "it's easy than redirect the billing of the users to the EA" but me and my technical team are not sure about it

Do any of you know if this is possible and/or the process to run?

@SaulS : Yes, this is possible. When they sign up for EA, they choose the tenant where the licenses will be deployed. They would simply choose the current tenant they have where the CSP licenses reside. After the O365E1 license are provisioned, they could discuss with their current CSP partner to cancel/suspend existing licenses and then they will also need to reassign licenses to their users since there are new licenses of a different type.

You said "existing EA" though - does this mean the customer has licenses from an EA already deployed to a different tenant? If yes, they should contact the account team/LSP they have worked with to sign the current EA and discuss options to move licenses to a different tenant, this step depends on the policies in the EA where I don't have sufficient insight to provide details.

Thanks @JanoschUlmer for the response!! Just to clarify, once the customer signed the EA and its activated, when do they have to choose the tenant where the licenses will be deployed? How long does it take? Is there any guidance for it?
