MCPP: Updates to requirements for two Solutions Partner designations
The Microsoft Cloud Partner Program launches on October 3, 2022. To prepare for that milestone, a series of updates and guidance are being published in September.
As part of that series, below is an update on adjusted requirements for two Solutions Partner designations.
Note: Partner assets will not be updated until September 22, 2022.
Solutions Partner designation for Business Applications
- Microsoft has adjusted the requirement for this Solutions Partner designation by replacing “Other” and “Larger” market classifications with “Enterprise” and “SMB” market classifications.
- Partners will be measured against different thresholds, depending on which of these market classifications they are in, and as they earn points in the Performance and Customer success categories.
- The change in requirements has been made to provide greater opportunity for SMB partners to qualify for this Solutions Partner designation.
Partners can learn more about the qualification requirements by reviewing the resources available in the Solutions Partner for Business Applications designation training gallery; or reviewing the requirements for their capability score by visiting Partner Center.
Solutions Partner designation for Data & AI (Azure)
- Microsoft has adjusted the requirements for this Solutions Partner designation by removing the Advanced Certification subcategory under the "Skilling" category.
- The skilling category will continue to have a maximum of 40 points available to earn. A minimum of 70 points (with points in each category and sub-category) out of the possible 100 points that are available is needed to attain a Solutions Partner designation.
- Please note that Intermediate Certification has a prerequisite requirement that requires at least two people with Azure Administrator Associate certification to qualify for earning any points. If there are fewer than two people in your organization who are certified with the Azure Administrator Associate certification, you won't earn any points in this metric, even if you meet the certification requirements.
Partners can learn more about the qualification requirements by reviewing the resources available in the Solutions Partner for Data & AI (Azure) designation training gallery; or reviewing the requirements for their capability score by visiting Partner Center.
