Delete payment profile

It does not seem to be possible to delete a payment profile in the Partner Center. Has anybody figured out how to get rid of a defunct bank account?

Hi, to remove a bank account, you will need to summit a support ticket via Partner Center.  Thanks, Patrick.

I tried and they said that it is not possible - that it's by design. So when we change banks, the old accounts remain forever. That's a pretty silly design or am I missing something?

Nope, they came back and told me that they would look at it for future changes, but that they couldn't delete these profiles at this point in time.

So there is no solution.
