Customer Stories - St. Luke’s critical care doctors use Microsoft Teams to create COVID-19 protocol, saving lives and improving recovery time

It’s not surprising that the first influx of COVID-19 patients at St. Luke’s University Health Network occurred at the network’s northernmost location, Monroe Campus. It sits right on Interstate 80, a major conduit in and out of New York City. As commuters traveled back and forth across the Pennsylvania border to work, St. Luke’s prepared for the inevitable. Even so, according to Douglas Corwin, MD, a physician in the pulmonary and critical care department at St. Luke’s, the first few days of treating patients with COVID-19 were “chaotic.” Forced to confront a brand-new respiratory virus, he and 14 other critical care pulmonologists were desperate to understand the disease.
