Windows 7 upgrade to Windows 10
We have a bunch of clients that are currently running Windows 7. They would like to upgrade to Windows 10. Can we still use the media creation tool?

As per the current update that i have Microsoft has stopped supporting windows 7 and win 7 users have three options
1. Upgrade to Windows 10 by either purchasing License or Download the ISO from Microsoft website.
2. Purchase Windows 7 Extended security update ESU and continue using windows 7.
3. Move to Azure i.e switch to Azure windows virtual desktop as it supports windows 7 as well.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Akshay

Reg.
1. Upgrade to Windows 10 by either purchasing License or Download the ISO from Microsoft website.
As mentioned before, when doing the upgrade via downloading the ISO, you need to have a valid license to be eligible for the upgrade. So it is rather "purchasing License AND then download the ISO..."

Technically you can, customer needs eligible licenses though that allow to do the upgrade from a licensing perspective.
E.g. Windows 10 E3 subscription in CSP program offers this upgrade benefit when customer has Windows 7 Pro or Windows 8 Pro licenses (Even when subscription is cancelled customer can keep Windows 10 Pro).
Same for M365 Business which includes Windows 10 Business. And of course upgrade licenses via Open also include the right to upgrade.
