Notification about rolling back changes - ISV competency

Hi,

We received this notification about rolling back the changes: https://blogs.partner.microsoft.com/mpn/updates-program-change-announcements/

However, it is not clear if this means that ISV competency can be renewed again soon ?

We are still seeing the message "As of 15-Feb-2019 ISV competency is no longer available for enrollment or renewal. Check out all competencies available to your company." in the portal

Thanks.

Re: Notification about rolling back changes - ISV competency

Hi Ximnet and Mihai,

I think that it makes sense for you to consider the Application Development Competency. This Competency is close to the nature of being an ISV, and it is pretty easy to qualify for Silver (some of your old exams might still eligible for qualification such as AZ-102, AZ-100 and AZ-101).

The requirements for Silver are:

Your company must have 2 individuals pass exam requirements in any one of the focus areas: Web and Mobile Client App Dev, Universal Windows Platform, Azure App Dev or Azure App Dev Role.

Azure App Dev focus area

2 individuals must pass the following exams:

  • Exam 70-487: Developing Microsoft Azure and Web Services

Web and Mobile Client App Dev focus area
2 individuals must pass one of the following exams:

Universal Windows Platform focus area
2 individuals must pass the following exam:

Azure App Dev Role focus area
2 individuals must pass either all Developer role or Administer role exams:

Hope this helps!

Regards, Per

Re: Notification about rolling back changes - ISV competency

Hi @ximnet,

Thank you very much for getting in touch with us on Microsoft Partner Community!

Gavriella’s letter was about changes we announced in May and June to competency performance requirements and benefits for partners with competencies and the Microsoft Action Pack. We are not reinstating the ISV competency. Marketplace is our ISV program going forward, with ability to earn rewards and co-selling with Microsoft sellers and other partners.

I hope this clarifies your query.

Thank you!

Thanks.

We are currently having Silver membership.

Which is the best way to continue to be able to renew our Silver membership next year to continue to access our Software Benefits?
