Episode 107: Microsoft Cloud and Hosting Partner Online Meeting | AppAssure, Intelligent Edge, Licensing Updates, News and more

Thanks for attending the January Cloud & Hosting Partner Online Meeting in which our focus topic was “Azure Lighthouse and Azure Arc”.  We highlighted again the need to have your Microsoft Partner Agreement and Microsoft Customer Agreements complete by January 31, 2020 (more details in Microsoft Cloud Yammer Community);  and to ensure your Partner Center Tenancy is meeting the necessary Security Requirements (more details at http://aka.ms/securityrequirements).  In the News and Venues segment we looked at a fresh list of face to face and online training across Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365 and Azure and announced the Cloud Skills Hub (http://aka.ms/cloudskillshub) as the new, go to online location for readiness and enablement.  The presentation and associated content is now available in the Community OneDrive at http://aka.ms/chpom.

And now to our February Online Meeting in which we have two, yes 2, focus topics.  Firstly we’ll take a closer look at “AppAssure” which will help clear that “old chestnut” objection made by customers to getting modern around application compatibility. Then we’ll take a look at “Hybrid and Intelligent Edge” options for partners to offer customers in optimization of IT services, and potentially transformational solutions.   As always, the online meeting will also cover the latest licensing and program news, and look at forthcoming online and in person events in the “News, Views and Venues” segment.

Our next Cloud & Hosting Partner Online Meetings is scheduled for Wednesday February 26, 2020, 1:00-2:00pm (Melbourne time).  This session will be for about 60 minutes.

Agenda:

The topics for this session will be

Licensing Updates

What’s new in SPLA, CSP and changes to licensing plus a look at Recently Asked Questions.

AppAssure

Our first focus topic is AppAssure which is no-cost app compatibility assistance when deploying Windows 10 and Office 365 ProPlus with an eligible subscription.  During these short segment you’ll gain insight to the success the team has had, in partnership with Partner, moving older, perceived to be incompatible, applications to the latest versions of Windows and Office.

Hybrid & Intelligent Edge

The second feature topic is Intelligent Edge which is an extension of Azure, bringing the agility and fast-paced innovation of cloud computing to on-premises environments. We’ll look at how you as a partner can deliver Azure services with the right amount of flexibility and control—for truly-consistent hybrid cloud deployments.
