Partnering Takes All Kinds … STEM, STEMWIT and Beyond
Partnerships are Color Agnostic. Or they should be.
Here is my post about choosing the sharpest partners for the job.
This was originally posted on my blog here.
Partnering Takes All Kinds … STEM, STEMWIT and Beyond
A few things I’ve learned about partnering over the last 25 years in business.
- It doesn’t matter what color they are.
- It doesn’t matter which way they are pointing.
- The best of them are all sharp and ready to make their mark.

I’ve worked for platform providers … notably Microsoft. But, I have also worked with SAP, Google, Salesforce, Amazon, Oracle, IBM, Box, and other platform players.
I’ve worked for ISV’s … notably K2, Winshuttle, and Kodak (yes, Kodak is an ISV too) and countless other ISV’s … predominantly in the Microsoft and adjacent partner ecosystems.
I’ve worked for and with System Integrators … notably Gimmal and almost every Global SI you can think of … Avanade, Accenture, Cap Gemini, Bearing Point, Deloitte, Tata, Wipro, HCL, and many others.
One thing that pulls them all together is that each of them has a collection of smart professionals that work hard to make sure every engagement is a success.
Why Mention This?
Simple, because It Takes All Kinds.
- Partners come in all colors
- Partners point in all different directions
- The best of them are all sharp and ready to make their mark
In my work with the IAMCP we seek to help partners of all types, no matter what they do, where they are located, or what they are trying to do. We help!
We are particularly focused on getting more Women in Technology involved and engaged. The Code.org team and the Microsoft Voices for Innovation team are involved on multiple levels. Take a look at Barb Levisay’s post about the STEM Scholarship named in honor of IAMCP President Emeritus Rudy Rodriguez.
“By 2020, there will be 1 million more computing jobs than applicants who can fill them.”

We need more STEMWIT’s … you can help. We don’t care what color they are, what direction they point … we just want them to be sharp and ready to make their mark.
Together we can build the partner of the future and create a long lasting Partner Experience (PX).
