Become a CSP reseller for another location
Hello,
I would like some information regarding becoming an Indirect Reseller for Indirect Providers (I was unable to find it in the docs.)
Our company has a Partner account with MPN & CSP dashboard. I enrolled the current account (we are in Asia) as an Indirect Reseller and am looking to associate with partners within our region.
We also have locations in Africa and the Middle East, which I have added to the Locations Tab. Each have been authorized and have their own MPN ID.
I attempt to partner with a African provider but it kept getting an error. Partner support and the partner mentioned I have to enroll each location MPN ID as a CSP partner.
However when I attempt this with my account (I am the global admin), I keep getting a "You are already enrolled" message when redirected to the dashboard.
Can I proceed to just share the MPN ID for our african locations with the partner to associate with them?
If not, how do I enroll each location individually with my account?
Appreciate the help and guidance in advance.

This worked perfectly for me and resolved an issue I've had on going a few weeks! One question, I don't seem to have a link to invite my customers to a relationship in the new CSP for the location. It's just blank?

After the verification is complete (Account settings-->Organization Profile --> "Legal" shows an active profile, and "Agreements" shows the MPA was signed), you will still need to assign yourself or other users the "Admin Agent" role in Partner Center (Account settings--> User Management", then sign out & in again. This role is automatically inherited even when you are global admin.

Hi,
is that still the case today? (so CSP for location MPN ID must be new Azure AD tenant in same country/location as MPN ID)
Please advise, Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply.
any tip on what this "InvalidMpnId" error could be on enrollment? One of your mentioned "occasional strange error when doing the enrollment"
{
"code": "InvalidMpnId",
"message": "Issue with the Mpn Id association.",
"description": "Exception type: PAEx.Common.Exceptions.ServiceException\r\nMessage : Issue with the Mpn Id association.\r\n\r\n",
"errorName": "BadRequest",
"isRetryable": false,
"parameters": {
"System.Object": null
}
}

@TiloVF : MPN ID you used is the location ID?
There is also another potential cause, don't know if this has been fixed, but maybe worth a try: The company name you enter in the CSP enrollment needs to be different to the company/legal entity name in the MPN profile. A small change is sufficient - e.g. when your MPN company information shows "Contoso Corp", do the CSP enrollment with "Contoso Corp." - the . at the end might make the difference. It seems there is a string comparison done that checks if there is already a Partner Center account for the same company.
If this does not the issue I'm out of ideas, at this point in time I would advice to open a support ticket.

fyi, MS fixed that on Oct 8.

@AdrianF :
You first need to create a new AzureAD tenant in the same location(s) where your MPN location(s) were set up.
Tip: Directly enable AzureAD Security Defaults when the new tenant was created to ensure compliance with the security requirements. And in order to avoid some occasional strange error when doing the enrollment later I'll recommend to set the email address of the "Technical Contact" in Azure Active Directory --> Properties to the email address of your support team (The support team's email address you will add later in the CSP registration form).
Then you use a global admin account created in the newly created tenant(s) to go through the Indirect enrollment: https://partnercenter.microsoft.com/pcv/register/joinnow/enrollmentwelcome/valueaddedreseller
Note: In here you will be asked to enter contact information for your support team - use the same email address as entered as technical contact email address.
During this CSP enrollment you will be asked to enter the MPN ID of an organization you want to link this new MPN account to - here you use the respective MPN location ID.
So then you have technically separate Partner Center accounts, but linked to the same MPN organization. Incentive Management for those new CSP enrollments will still happen in your Partner Center account were you manage MPN.
