Does SharePoint stores Documents in a revision-proof manner?

HI,

Is there any statement from Microsoft that SharePoint on-premise is a revision-proof Document Management System?

For a potential client we planned SharePoint as a Document management System for CRM. We need to confirm that SharePoint on-premise fulfills all criteria of a revision-proof System. We found a blog that discusses this topic but only for SharePoint online. Hence my question: Does SharePoint stores Documents in a revision-proof manner?

Can somebody give me information or share their experience about SharePoint and if it suits the criteria of a revision proofen Document Management System?

View version history in SharePoint Server 2016, 2013, or 2010. Navigate to the list or library that contains the item or file you want to explore. Hover over the item or file for which you want to view the history, click the arrow that appears, and select Version History from the drop-down list.
