Windows Virtual Desktop is now known as Azure Virtual Desktop
We are very excited to announce in line with the blog post that went out early today http://aka.ms/wvdvisionblog, that Windows Virtual Desktop is now known as Azure Virtual Desktop and has an expanded vision of becoming a flexible cloud VDI platform for nearly any use case—accessible from virtually anywhere. There are a number of exciting announcements included in the blog post including:
- New Platform capabilities for security and management in the form of
- Enhanced support for AAD (coming soon in public preview)
- Manage Win 10 Enterprise multi-session VMs with MEM (available now in public preview)
- A new QuickStart experience
Finally, we are also releasing new pricing options for remote app streaming which allows organizations to use AVD to deliver their applications "as-a-service" to their customers and business partners for a monthly per user fee!
