Kate Gibbons is the One Commercial Partner Worldwide referral lead, focusing on delivering high quality customer leads and opportunities to Microsoft’s partner ecosystem. Prior to joining One Commercial Partner, Kate spent three years in a customer and partner experience team within Azure engineering. Kate brings a diverse industry background to Microsoft, having once been a legislative aide to a U.S. Congressman, a fashion executive and a newspaper reporter. Kate has a master’s degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of Colorado—Boulder.
As a professional dancer and teacher with more than 20 years’ experience within the performing arts industry, Maria Thomson utilized her passion for theatre and visual communication to move into an event management company for 4 years managing clients such as Nokia and AVI. Having developed a reputation for client management, experiential execution and attention to detail, Maria was offered a role within Microsoft (Nokia Mobile Devices) to build and communicate the online app store look and feel. As part of this role, Maria managed a multi-regional environment across East, West and Southern Africa, as well as regional and Global relationships to drive optimal app downloads and ecosystem development. Thereafter Maria moved into the role of Independent Software Vendor Go to Market lead for South Africa and in 2018 Partner Marketing Advisor, where she developed, supported and executed go to market plans driving success for both partners and Microsoft. As a result of Maria’s success in driving the Co-Sell relationship with partners in South Africa in 2018 she was offered the role of Co-Sell Evangelism and Success Lead on the Microsoft Corp Co-Sell programs team. In this role Maria is responsible for driving awareness of the Co-Sell program and the successes generated.
