Nonprofit Pricing on CSP

With the move from CSP Legacy to the New Commerce Experience (NCE) for commercial customers, we have had an increase in partners asking what the situation will be for the nonprofits SKU's.

So, be aware, that we do not have a timeframe yet for when nonprofit pricing will move to the NCE and as a result you can continue to transact with nonprofits using legacy CSP.

N.B. Enterprise Agreements remain unaffected and can continue to be used for those customers requiring an EA with nonprofit discounts.

Stay up to date here in the community, and take the time to watch our regular community updates.

Hi Ian,

I am working with a Non-profit and want to give them a license cost. However, I can find separate pricing for Non-Profits in NCE? Where can I find Non profit pricing?

Is this still the case? I ask as we are planning the merger of a company we acquired that has a heap of non-profit cusotmers, and if they all still on legacy, that means we can just do the old cancel and re-purchase under the new CSP correct?

Hi @jgriffin  The nonprofit customers can more easily brought over to you via a relationship request, so that way the billing and support moves over to you from the companies that you've merged with. Think of it in the same way that you might bring a customer into your org when they've been working with another partner.

Hi @Ian_Drew .

My question is about a new CSP Subscription e.g. a new subscription for Dynamics 365 Sales or a new subscription of Power BI. Let me illustrate this below

If a notforprofit customer only purchases Dynamics 365 Sales from us right now and wants to buy a new SKU e.g. Power BI on 15th March, will we be able to order that Power BI for them under CSP Legacy on 15th March. I am asking this because it will be a new subscription as the current subscription is limited to Dynamics 365 Sales. Reading earlier commercial documentation suggested that CSP Legacy new orders cannot be placed after 10th March. So how will Microsoft make exceptions to this for notforprofit customers. How will your announcement be executed, just trying to gather more clarity on this please. Thanks

@akshaysureka The clarification that we got is that nonprofits won’t have any issues with their existing offers or purchasing new nonprofit CSP offers on legacy after March 15th  as the enforcement will apply only to the commercial offers.

HI @Ian_Drew . Thanks for this information. Will we be able to create a new subscription for nonprofits using legacy CSP after 10 March?

If yes, will there be an introduction of any new processes to confirm the customer is nonprofit to allow them to still place new legacy CSP orders. Thanks Ian

@akshaysureka As we make use of a commercial tenant and tag it as Nonprofit, the capability to create a new tenant in legacy will go as Microsoft moves commercial from Legacy and to NCE. However, during the eligibility process we create a direct tenant for the nonprofit, that you can then make a Relationship Request to then provision licences via CSP.  This is how many partners work today with nonprofits seeking eligibility, as it's often better to gain confirmation of eligibility before creating the tenant etc.
