Save up to 40 percent on Windows Server VMs

Now is the time to move to Azure and reap the rewards of cloud technology including the ability to scale up or down quickly, pay only for what you use, and save on compute power. Whether you’re moving a few workloads, migrating your datacenter, or deploying new virtual machines (VMs) as part of your hybrid cloud strategy, the Azure Hybrid Use Benefit provides big savings as you move to the cloud.

Azure HUB allows Partners with Software Assurance (SA) on their Windows Server licenses to run virtual machines in Azure with up to 40% cost savings. For example, the annual cost of 2 Azure VMs is $2,964 USD - with AHUB the price is just $1,777 USD.* This makes it easier for Partners to have a new way to offer more services without raising overall project costs.

This is not the only exciting change to Software Assurance. We are pleased to announce the general availability of Windows Server Premium Assurance and SQL Server Premium Assurance, which provide Customers an incremental six years of extended support for these products, whether on-premises or in the cloud.

*Savings based on two D2 v2 Promo VMs in West US 2 Region running 20 hours/day for one year (365 days), base compute rate at CentOS or Ubuntu Linux rate for West US 2, and Software Assurance cost (Level A) for Windows Server Standard edition (one 2-processor license or a set of 16 core licenses). Actual savings may vary based on location, instance type, or usage. Prices as of April 2017. Prices subject to change.

Well done! I like this as it will help convince even more to try out running VMs on Azure.

It's the very first workload that is the barrier - once that first one is done, the rest will follow. And when skilled partners help the customer to determine which workload to move and assisting in the migration there is a great probability for success.

The low hanging fruit used to be web servers but nowadays you can move more or less anything - but make sure that the workload that you move initally doesn't have any dependencies with workloads running on-premise as they need to be sorted out first. Today you can move everything to Azure - and the role for the partner is to advise the customer how to make it happen in the right order and pace.

This offer is great ammunition for partners that are out there winning workloads for Azure!

Yeah its just a shame about all the bugs that are in MS system's and its getting worse everyday...

The other issue is MS's lack of servers in certain regions..

And lastly this is MS so I'm just waiting for MS to have a massive cascade outage...
